Never had any problem with importing files; but now I subsequently receive the following messages when importing a file: :
- after selecting the (pdf) file: transfer completed 
- after filling in information like playlist and collection: opening pdf file failed; Importing file failed.

It makes no difference what the location is of the file to be imported (local, cloud) 

As far as I know I didn't change any setting. Android is uptodate; the same applies for Mobilesheets.

Any idea how to solve this problem?

It sounds like you don't have the latest update. Just open the Google Play Store app, search for MobileSheets and download the latest update. Then you shouldn't encounter any issues with importing PDFs.
