Hi - newbie question. I have real books on pdf. They were scanned originally. Can I import an entire real book pdf into this app and then search for tunes individually?

See if there is a CSV file that matches your pdf. Copy the CSV into the same folder with the pdf then import both.

Thanks! I will give it a try.

Just to clarify, you will want to use the Import->CSV or PDF Bookmarks option to import the CSV file.
