The genial cut/copy-tool would even be more powerful and suitable, if one could change the size, after it once was positioned. What I mean are little handles in each corner, to resize the selection. Hope that is not too difficult for you...

That's certainly on the list for version 3.10.0 (when I am introducing other annotation features and updates).
