I thought that this was fixed years ago...
If I'm in view mode and I zoom and pan with my fingers to a certain area of interest and then I enter annotation mode to work in that area, the zoom is maintained but the pan is always reset to the top left of the page which then makes very difficult to find again the previous displayed area.
Is this by design?  I hope not...
It might be due to a combination of settings. Please export your settings (Settings->Backup and Restore->Export Settings), send it to mike@zubersoft.com and I'll test it out so I can provide more information about what is happening. If you enable "Allow editing of embedded PDF annotations" or "Force single page display mode", for example, you are more likely to run into a problem with zooming, but that's just usually with it resetting the zoom, not with the panning position being incorrect.

Thanks,
Mike

You are right, I tested both settings  "Allow editing of embedded PDF annotations" or "Force single page display mode" separately and the problem occurs when they are enabled and it doesn't when they are disabled so when disabled I can zoom/pan, enter annotation and the pan stays (except a small shift down due to the appearance of the toolbar at the top).    My default display is half page mode.
I'm sending you the settings anyway with email.
Thanks.
