In the last couple days, when I have a page of music on the tablet, tapping anywhere on the screen turns the page and nothing else. I used to be able to tap in the middle and get notation or navigation menus. So I can no longer add notations to my music. Is there a setting that I could have inadvertently changed, or did something in my environment cause this? Tablet is Google Nexus 10 running Android 5.0.1.

You are probably in performance mode. In the top left of the library screen there is a musicstand icon. When it is orange coloured, you are are in performance mode. Tap it to leave performance mode.

That seems to happen to me with almost every GUI I use. At one time or another, I hit something that causes a change, and I don't know how to get back and don't know what to call it to look it up in the manual.
