Aliens from Zeta Reticuli II captured the drivers in the first place ![]() I'm always amazed whether it be Apple or Microsoft or in this case Samsung how a large company doesn't beta test their programs until MAJOR problems have been worked out. Let's be thankful for Mr. Zuberman who actually CARES about his program and tries to make it WORK! No conspiracy after all... Probably not, although it might equally well be argued they have been caught with their trousers (pants for my US cousins) down and are now busily trying to cover it up. I don't suppose we will ever know the whole truth. I find it difficult to believe that such a major bug managed to escape the notice of the many Samsung engineers, through whose hands this product must have passed, before release. You're getting old. 'Release' is just the new word for beta test. That's why I never upgrade to a new release until the initial bunch of flaws are dealt with. RE: Any fix for loss of the virtual keyboard on a Galaxy Note Pro with an Air-turn Ped - marais - 07-23-2015 N.B. Before (and IF) Samsung gets the Lollipop nonsense straightened out and if you all do flash back to Kitkat you may experience (as I mentioned somewhere in the forum) : - in the text tool the virtual keyboard won't show up. I've had this problem and the fix is easy and was posted here. (MAKE SURE YOUR PEDAL IS PAIRED AND ON OTHERWISE YOU WILL NOT SEE THE NECESSARY MENU) : http://www.zubersoft.com/mobilesheets/forum/attachment.php?aid=187 Easy as pie! RE: Any fix for loss of the virtual keyboard on a Galaxy Note Pro with an Air-turn Ped - Cor Maijs - 07-23-2015 ![]() Do we have to wait for a bugfix from Android or is there anyone who found a solution ? I had the same too as millions of other people. The androidcentral forum is buzzing with this. Latest news is that Samsung admitted to an error (at least to Logitech and hope this will apply to Airturn and Cicadia Pageflip as well). So the only thing to do while waiting is this complicated procedure to flash back to Kitkat. It worked for me and many others. Here's the step by step thing to do from Androidcentral = Quote:(Note - after flashing it took a few minutes to get the tablet to reboot in recovery mode at which time I wiped all date - factory reset and all was fine and my two bluetooth pedals (Airturn and Pageflip) back in business). I noticed a "symptom" of the 5.0.2 fault, that is while pairing the Pageflip it is recognized as a "dual pedal" in 5.0.2 while in Kitkat it has a number before pairing and once paired a message "bluetooth keyboard connected" appears). Choose the settings on the pedal itself, and turn off the "Input device" option. Then it will always go straight to a virtual keyboard instead of thinking your foot pedal is a keyboard. It will still work to turn pages. RE: Any fix for loss of the virtual keyboard on a Galaxy Note Pro with an Air-turn Ped - IanH - 05-07-2016 (07-23-2015, 06:38 PM)marais Wrote: N.B. It's only marginally different but based on the above: make sure the pedal in ON and connected. Setting -> CONTROLS -> Language and input. in the "Keyboard and input methods" you should have a "Default" and a "Samsung keyboard" entry tap the "Default" entry. enable "Use on-screen keyboard" If the Pedal isn't connected you WON'T see that last option and that's the one that made things work on my setup. RE: Any fix for loss of the virtual keyboard on a Galaxy Note Pro with an Air-turn Ped - sciurius - 05-08-2016 And you lose the setting every time the pedal reconnects. Nope - not on mine. I'd tried reconnecting the Pedal and the setting was still there so I've just tried restarting the Galaxy and the setting is still there. The Pedal and the keyboard both work in MobileSheets. RE: Any fix for loss of the virtual keyboard on a Galaxy Note Pro with an Air-turn Ped - schnautza - 06-09-2016 Those of you still having problems, have you tried what I've suggested in this thread? http://zubersoft.com/mobilesheets/forum/showthread.php?tid=3399 It's basically another keyboard app you can download that has an option built-in to ignore all "physical" keyboards (like the PED) and always use the on-screen virtual keyboard. Very customizable and hasn't given me any issues yet. I highly recommend trying it out. RE: Any fix for loss of the virtual keyboard on a Galaxy Note Pro with an Air-turn Ped - BRX - 06-09-2016 I didn't have any problems. But i tried it anyway and it's much to my liking. I switch often between this and Swype. So thanks for the recommendation. |
