Auto-Start on Android / LineageOS
#1
I am setting up a system running on Raspberry PI and using LineageOS.
So far everything seems to work fine.
But I could not find a way to automatically start MobileSheets after Booting completes.

I tried out several apps like these:
https://f-droid.org/en/packages/com.jens.automation2/

where the "Manual Test" starts up Mobile Sheets but when booting the device, I end up on the start screen, the automation app tells that the action was executed, but MobileSheets does not start.

I suppose it has to do something with not being able to start when the start screen of the OS is displayed.

Is there any possibility to get it to work (e.g. a Setting to activate to let MobileSheets start automatically after the System boots?)

What Android OS version are you using with LineageOS? MobileSheetsPro does not run as a service, so it can't be configured itself to automatically launch at startup. Another service could potentially try to run the app (I imagine that's what those apps you tried are supposed to do). This post has information on how a service can be set up to run, and then respond to the boot complete notification to do something like attempt to load an application: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/6391...on-startup

Unfortunately, I can't really provide any more support than that as I don't have any previous experience with trying to do this, and it's not something MobileSheetsPro can do itself.

Hi Mike... Indeed I have used the latest LineageOS available for RaspberryPi which is based on Android10. It seems there was a change in Android 10 so that the launcher-apps cannot launch MobileSheets on boot anymore:

I will give it a try on Lineage based on Android 9
