Mike,
I think the backup problems are a problem with the structuur of the Argos tablet. When I make an backup to the internal sd card it's OK. It's not possible to make an backup to my external sd card or usb stick.
With my email program I have the same problem. It'S not possible to save an attachment to my sd card.
