Using MSP on a 21.5" touch screen (Acer Aspire) in landscape mode, 2 page display.
The pages fill the entire height of the tablet (in landscape), sort of actual paper size.
The problem happens when trying to annotate text on the bottom 3rd of a page:
I need to add lyrics (or other textual comments) positioned under the correct notes.
The virtual keyboard pops up, but totally covers a large percentage of the bottom of the page. This prevents me from seeing where the text is being positioned.
Presently, after selecting where the initial text is to begin, I have to type the text (with the keyboard covering the score), then hide the keyboard, then select the text and type, adding/deleting spaces to position the text correctly, or type additional text for more lyrics on the same line... BUT, each time, the virtual keyboard pops up and again covers the area I'm trying to see for annotations making it a totally hit-and-miss situation. This is terribly time consuming and frustrating.
In ForScore, this problem is avoided by having the score move up appropriately so that the area of the page to be notated (the bottom of the page) is above the virtual keyboard while editing. This allows you to continuously see where you're making your annotations.
Can something similar or another solution be implemented in MSP?
This would help tremendously, as currently, it's almost unuseable in those specific circumstances. (Most other things are fantastic, btw.)
I know this was posted before for Mobile Sheets, but I'm looking for a new perspective with Mobile Sheets Pro.
I am a long time user of ForScore on my old iPad 2.0. Need to upgrade but for many reasons but I will not continue with Apple products.
I am moving to Android and have just purchased a Samsung Tab S 10.1. I am looking for any and all suggestions on moving my
500+ PDF sheet music files from ForScore to Mobile Sheets Pro.
I also have a few very specific questions.
1. Can ForScore files with annotations be imported into Mobile Sheets Pro with all the annotations intact? 2. In ForScore page turns and repeats can be synced exactly with an MP3 playing. Can this be done in Mobile Sheets Pro? Thanks in advance for helping me with this project. Carl AKA dialtech
A ChordPro document has non-default settings (lyrics size, chord size, ...)
A new version of the document is moved in place
When MSPro shows the (renewed) document it is reformatted, retaining all annotations. However, the document specific text settings are all reset to the default values.
Although there are some pro's for this behaviour, I'd rather have the non-default settings applied, and an explicit button to reset the text settings to all default values.
A nice but understandable and explainable peculiarity happens in the following situation:
Documents are not maintained by MSPro
The ChordPro document is shown
Back to the songs list
A new version of the document is moved in place
Use the right arrow below to get back to the document: the old version is shown
Back to the songs list
Select the song from the songs list: now the new version is loaded and shown
See video attached (delete ending ".txt" after download)
The position of the audio player is moving by changing the tablet rotation.
It seems as if the position of the audio play (I think this well be the same at all overlay features) is defined by absolut screen coordinates. I think it should be relative coordinates.
I am a neophyte user of both a (Win 8.1) tablet and MS. I've successfully loaded songs from Dropbox but can't get any songs from Local File out of my computer, including .png and .pdf. Is there a better way to access this app? Is there an alternative to Blue Stacks if that is my problem? I am not using a removable SD card, just whatever drive comes with ASUS T200TA.

With the option 'hide navigation bar' checked
Start MSPro
Navigation bar is shown on the library screens (ok)
Long press a song and select edit
Edit screen is shown, navigation bar is shown (ok)
Press 'ok' or 'cancel' or back
Library screen is displayed but Navigation bar is now gone!
It takes a restart of MS Pro to have it back
When
- a song is opened from a setlist
- and the song is the last song or the one before last of the setlist
- and I change the tablet's orientation from portrait to landscape or vice versa
then the display changes not only the orientation but additionally changes the song
This is a combined reply to the threads mentioned in the subject.
Background: My files have names like "001_Dirty_Old_Town.cho". If it is a ChordPro file, it contains a title directive like
{title: 1. Dirty Old Town} .
When this file is imported, MSPro currently guesses the song title from the file name, and it becomes "001 Dirty Old Town". Actually, I'd like to use this for SORTTITLE, and have the title taken from the ChordPro directive. This is all (being) implemented. I can use numeric sort to get the songs listed in the right order.
However, only the songs list support sort settings. When I select a library tab (e.g., collection) and select one, the songs are listed in alphabetical order. So I get a list where songs 10 - 19 are shown between 1 and 2, and so on.
I could ask for custom sorting on all library tabs, but that would be a lot of work, and there are other issues much more relevant. Besides, even with numeric sort, there's still the problem how to sort names like "25. Foo Bar" and "25. My Song". So I just stick to using the 'full-digit' song titles. No problem.
Except that now I do need a "Ignore ChordPro directives" checkbox on the (bulk) import dialog to prevent the song titles from being overwritten by a possible {title} directive. I estimate that would be just a small task.
