With the standard MobileSheets I was able to quickly assemble a setlist of two or three tunes when they were called at a music session - not to save as a permanent setlist but just for that occasion. I can't seem to be able to do this with Pro. When I tap on the first tune and then touch the plus sign I get a list of existing pre-saved setlists to add the current tune to - not what I'm trying to do.
Is there a way under Pro of assembling a quick and temporary pairing of tunes without creating, naming and saving a new set?
After installation of the new version 2.0.2 I can't add a .pro file to a new song.
CompanionPro crashes always when I try it. Whis .pdf files I have no problems.
The update to 2.0.1 installed an older version of CompanionPro, so I removed it and installed the 2.0.2 version complete new.
I just bought the new pro version (have had the old one for ages). I was hoping it might automatically import the songs etc from the old one which is also on my tablet but not finding any way to do that, I decided to restore a backup from the old version from my PC. So, I installed the companion program and restored the latest backup I had. All seemed to work.
I thought it would be a good idea to create a new backup from the pro version, and this is where I am having problems.
On the first attempt it seemed to gather up all the songs and package them, and send them to the PC (ending with a "Backup completed successfully" on the tablet status log. The PC however is sitting forever saying 100% transferred and never completing the save of the file. I look on my disk and the file is there, but showing 0 length. After a length of time I have to give up and hit the cancel button.
If I try again, it fails in various ways, from the tablet acting as if nothing has happened, to the tablet saying "initiating backup" and then nothing else happening.
If I disconnect the tablet from the PC and reconnect, it proceeds as per the first time, getting to 100% but never saving the file properly, just like before.
A backup to the tablet itself, from Mobilesheets Pro works fine.
on startup, Companion informed me there was an update.
AT the end of the update process, I got the following error,
and the installed version stays the same.
It used to be under Mobilesheets, that I would organize my folders and nest them and on a batch import, MobileSheets would recognize this and categorize all my songs for me. For example: sdcard/gig folder/top40band/tenor sax/
Then the proper album, collection info would get filled out for me based on the folder layout.
I can't seem to figure out how to do this in MobileSheets Pro. I've read the manual a little bit, but there seems to be no mention of this.
Workout around: I've exported my library from MobileSheets and am now importing this into MobileSheets Pro. That seems to do the trick.
Again: How do I get batch import to recognize my nested folders and auto-fill my collection, album, artist info etc.
I have a PDF with several pieces in (minuet, allegro etc.) I imported the complete PDF as one song (about 15 pages), then made bookmarks for each piece. When I touch the song's title I get the front page (this is ok) then I need bookmarks to appear.
I use the Quick Action bar with the Bookmarks action, touch bookmarks, touch the piece, dismiss bookmarks.
Is there a quicker way?
I will be adding more similar PDFs, so will have many allegro, minuet, gigue pieces (etc) so do not think the Bookmarks tab window will be very helpful. I am happy with opening the PDF itself then using bookmarks listing for this PDF.
What would be better is the Songs' Editor having a box to check, where it automatically opens this PDF with the bookmarks window open so I can choose the piece instantly, then when I touch it, the bookmarks window disappears (since I no longer need it open) and the correct page appears.
I do not want to add metadata to run filters because this would take too long to set up and would mean several filters to find the piece. Tapping on the Title from Collections then the pieces bookmark would be quick.
Mike,
the manual explains what checking this does and what happens if you do not have its location available on startup. But what is the advantage or otherwise of checking this or not for the normal user?
Thanks
