V3.8.6 consecutive lines of chords not correctly displayed
#1
Just upgraded to running v 3.8.6 on MS SurfaceBook3 w/ win11.

Imported text files with multiple consecutive lines of only chords such as:

A  B  C
D  E  F
G  A  B

The odd lines (first and third lines) will be recognized as chords and shown in the appropriate color and can be transposed.
The even lines (second, fourth, etc.) are read as text and therefore not displayed in the chord color and won't transpose.  Can't find any embedded characters
that would cause such behavior.  Copying content of an odd numbered line into an even numbered line maintains same behavior.

If I put blank lines in between - everything is hunky dory, (except it takes up more screen real estate.)

Is this a new "feature" or something peculiar about my new hardware combination?)

Best Regards
John

Looks to be a bug John - I'll work on getting it fixed for version 3.8.7. Thanks for letting me know about this.

I was wondering if the aforementioned situation is related to the one I am trying to understand.

I use Text Files.

Using highlighted chords - if I put other text on the Chord line it kills the chord colour

 e.g.

Em (Hold)>>Fading>>>>>>
Em G D A  Em G D A

C      G        Dsus2              Asus2
Sometimes I wish someone out there will find me
C      G    E/D              **Distortion Off )
Till then I walk alone        (Stop Pause)

Maybe I have missed a point somewhere?

No, that is one of the limitations with text files. MobileSheets can't know what lines are for chords, and which are not. It has to do this by analyzing each word and seeing if it's a valid chord. If too many characters are non-chord characters, then it doesn't treat the line as a chord line, and the chord styling won't be applied. This is why chord pro files are superior. Chords are clearly defined as they are inside brackets. If you convert your text files to chord pro (there are many tools out there and many of them have been linked to on the forum), then you won't run into this issue. Otherwise, only put chords on lines by themselves.
