MobileSheetsPro 1.5.4 and MobileSheetsPro Companion 2.4.0 Released
#11
I'll have to look into the misalignment. I can't seem to reproduce it on my Nexus 10, so I'll have to try on my other tablets.

It looks like the problem I reported in #3 of this thread.
No autoscroll involved.

The 1.5.4 version is there, I see that, but no option to update offered.
I don't need or want to stick with Amazon, it was a random choice at the time.

I would also dearly like to dump the Amazon App Store.

Not only do I get (late) notifications for updates, they don't work on (the older) two of my tablets...it seems to download, but no update.

Amazon doesn't know why this should happen, and points the finger at the developer (Mike).

To get around this, I have been side-loading an .apk backup created on another tablet, which works fine.

After thinking about it, I couldn't justify the space taken up by the Amazon App Store app, so I deleted it on the two tablets...only to find I can't run MobileSheets Pro unless I have their (AMAZON) app store app installed!  Angry

As a side note, I see my LG-V909 (G-Slate) (running Android 3.xx) isn't eligible to run the current version of MobileSheets Pro according to the Google Play Store...despite the fact that a side-loaded copy works fine on it.  Huh

This is the same for Google tablets... You need to have Google Services/Play installed to run MSPro (and, in fact, many legally paid apps). TitaniumBackup is the only app I known that uses a license file so it is independent from network and other tools.

Although for most purposes it doesn't matter much, for a serious and important app like MSPro I really would like to be able to run it standalone on a dedicated tablet that doesn't have any crappware installed.

Steve,

Is the error from Google Play a message about incompatibility? If so, try the following:

1: Reboot your tablet
2: Go to your tablet Settings->Applications->Google Play and tap Clear Data. Do the same for Google Play Services.
3: Load Google Play and install MobileSheetsPro
4: If the installation still does not work, reboot your tablet and try again

That usually fixes those kinds of errors.

As far as Amazon pointing the finger at me, I have no idea why they would do that. I don't control the way their app store delivers updates - I just push it up and then it goes through the approval process.

Thanks for the assist, Mike, but I'm not attempting to install from Google Play...yet.

I'm checking on my computer (which is a handy way to install an app on multiple devices), and the store tells me which of my devices can run the app I'm looking at.

I'll try your suggestion to see if it makes a difference, but I'm not optimistic.

I'm this >||< close to buying MSPro again from Google Play just so I can ditch the Amazon store off ALL my devices...

I tried the above, to no avail...except for the installing part, that is...I haven't (yet) bought the app from Google Play

As a side note, I can't even look at MobileSheets Pro when perusing the store on the tablet, Google Play will only show me MobileSheets 'regular/basic'.

Send me an email at mike@zubersoft.com so we can talk about getting you transferred over to Google Play without you having to pay again. Sometimes it takes a number of reboots of the tablet for MobileSheetsPro to show up on the app store for some users (I'm not sure why).
