Syncing from Dropbox into a new library goes weird
#1
Hello,

It happened to me three times, on Android, iPadOS and iOS. I can't find any logic.

1 - I create a new library.
2 - I sync from Dropbox.
3 - The app tells me it's merging files, but it doesn't download the PDF's.
3 - No error messages.
5 - When I open a PDF, I get the message that the PDF is not readable. Its size is 0 bytes, while in Dropbox the PDF is perfectly readable.
6 - The embedded mp3 and midi-files are present andI can play them inside MobileSheets.
7 - syncing the same Dropbox folder with another device went without problems.

Any ideas?

I'll see if I can find a way to reproduce that. If not, the only next step I can think of is to share access to the Dropbox folder you are synchronizing to, I can try synchronizing it to my devices and see if I encounter the same problem you did.

Okay, thanks.

I'll try to replicate it. If I succeed, I'll share the Dropbox folder with you.
I'll keep you informed.

I wanted to follow up on this - I wasn't able to reproduce any issues, so it may be helpful for me to have access to your Dropbox folder so I can try synchronizing to it.

Thanks,
Mike

Hi Mike,

It happened again twice. I couldn't find a system in it.
In the meanwhile we recreated the libraries.
When it happens again, I'll let you know and I'll give you access.

Thanks, just let me know and I'll investigate it once I have access.

I told Mike already, so to inform the others:

It happens after you rename the Dropbox-folder that contains the library. Mike explained that this is related to the way Dropbox organizes maps and files.
II found that syncing with the setting [Check for modified files in the folder of the cloud] might help.
