Sync Library > Some songs keeps being synced
#1
I usually (not always) sync from my MS Windows  to my tablet, using this options:

There are thousands of songs on my library, and syncing usually takes between 6 to 10 minutes. However, no matter how many times I sync my collections, some (around 40) of my songs keeps being sent from my PC to my Android device over and over and over, no matter if those songs were actually changed after the last sync or not. In fact, I sinc the collection, and inmediatelly sync it again, the same 40 songs are sent twice: Here are the partial logs:

Sync 1

Etc.

None of these files changed between sync 1 and 2 (well, actually nothing changed), but for some reason keeps thinking that those 41 file were somewhat changed and need to be updated on my Android device.

Any idea?

Can you please verify that you are running version 3.9.17 on each device? MobileSheets should just be checking the file hashes on each device to verify whether or not the files are identical. If it sends the files every time, that means it can't match up the hashes for some reason, so it thinks there are changes to the files. I definitely don't see that behavior on any of my devices. If we can't figure this out, I may need to work with you to get a copy of the database file from each device so I can dig into this further (or a backup file from each device) to see if the database is in a bad state for some reason.

Yes, using 3.9.17 on both devices. I've just sent you the databases and the sync logs, thanks!

Problewm solved, I'll post the solution for future reference.

I usually work on my PC and then sync my PC with my Android devices, and frequently update some PDF just by replacing them with updated files (of course with identical names)  on the PC library folder. It turned out that this was causing the issue. Here's Mike's answer:

"Yes [that can cause the problem], because MobileSheets won't have calculated the new file hash for those files if you change them outside MobileSheets. You have to do one of two things:

1) After replacing a file, load the song using that file in MobileSheets so the file hash is updated. You have to do this for every song using a file that was replaced.
2) Long press the song, tap the three dots at the top right and select "Swap File". Select the new PDF for that song. Use this approach instead of just copying songs into the storage location."

Using "Swap files" command instead of replacing the files direclty on the library folder works flawesly.
