I will be playing as a stand-in with my friend's band. He has sent me a MobileSheets setlist file (.msf) created from his setlist with Share -> Export songs and files.
It's a one time gig, and I don't want to keep the setlist or songs in my MobileSheets database afterwards.
However, I might already have some of those songs in my MobileSheets, and I'm worried that importing the setlist will mess up my current database.
After the gig, I want to remove my friend's setlist and songs, so that my database looks exactly the same as before.
What would be the best practice to achieve this?

You could backup the current MobileSheets files (using MobileSheets or the companion), use the .msf (never done that) and do a MS or Companion Restore after the gig.
This assumes that you don't want to modify any of your own songs between the backup and restore.
This should work fine if "MS is managing the files". However, if you are "managing the files yourself" then you probably also want to make your own backup of the song directories e.g. copying the directory tree to a different location. In the event that the restore didn't handle your your self-managed song files correctly, you could always fix the problem by restoring them from this copy
MS now allows multiple libraries (it didn't when I started so I haven't used them). An alternative solution could be to create a library specifically for this gig and import (is this correct option?) the .msf into this library. Wipe the library after the gig. This has the advantage that it doesn't affect your current database/songs. It also means that you can modify your own songs without worrying about the changes being lost by a restore.
Whatever you choose, make sure that you first use MS or the companion to take a backup - at least you then have something to recover from should something go amiss.
There are probably other methods so suggest you hang back a bit to see if something else is suggested.

Thanks for the tips. I think I'll play it safe for now:
1. Backup library
2. Clear library
3. Import the .msf file
Afterwards:
4. Restore library from backup.
I can live with not editing my current library between 1. and 4.
