Dual tablet -sync score to both
#1
Hi all,

Former sysadmin here.

Couple of dumb questions please (I play in an community philharmonic orchestra and need to work with my desk partner in rehearsal, both editing a score.)

I found some Lenovo tablets 12.7", matte screen,at a sale price yesterday. Bought two for the price of one. Have installed mobile sheets onto both, ver 3.9.17 from Google play

Pairing the two tablets isn't seamless, but it works with a bit of fiddling around 'forgetting' connections, etc

Attempting to sync the library via Bluetooth brought up JavaScript errors (primary as a server and secondary as the client, assume correct) and looped Bluetooth connection/disconnection, so I couldn't test updating library via bluetooth

Questions I can't solve and would appreciate guidance on if I may. 10:55pm and work in the morning.

(1) With the tablets side-by-side, it's possible to see the pages in ”book mode", however, the two tablets edit scores independently. (Makes sense, as they're stored separately)
Q:is there a way to sync the files on changes or every couple of minutes, or set up the dual pages so that the same file is being shown on both screens (so it's being edited jointly a'la Google docs, etc...)

(2) Is it possible to host a file on Google drive and have both tablets reference the same file as a workaround? (Prefer not to be IoT and work locally, perhaps draw on the server file, not the client.)

(3) Answer is probably not, but I'll ask...is there a way to use the one pen on both tablets when it's paired by Bluetooth to one only?

Thanks in advance for any help/advice you can offer.

I wouldn't suggest synchronizing over bluetooth - it's only there as a last resort, but bluetooth is not a good choice due to how slow and unreliable it is for large file transfers.

1) I do plan on supporting an option to automatically synchronize annotations when using book mode, and I want to address this very soon as it's a very large usability issue for those utilizing book mode.
2) No, the app is designed for offline use so it never stores references to the clouds (all files are downloaded first)
3) I don't believe so, although with my Samsung S-Pen, it doesn't require pairing at all, so technically it would work on any other Samsung tablet that also supports the S-Pen. With an active stylus that requires pairing, you are probably out of luck as it can't be paired to two devices at the same time.
