Finer Metronome options ?

My teacher has me learning a new Chart that has a 12 / 8 time signature.  Would be really nice is I could set the Metronome to a Dotted Quarter note. There doesn't seem to be that level of granularity ...  right?  Might be a nice added future feature if that's the case.

I do plan to make significant changes to the metronome once I have some time. There are a lot of features that I would like to support like dotted notes as you mentioned.
