Hey, longtime MobileSheets user and bigtime fan.
Impressively I think this is the first feature that I've looked for that's not there:
I play viola for a lot of pit orchestras (musicals), and have made a habit of scanning my music into MobileSheets to make instant page turns. Unfortunately this results in one large PDF file usually a couple hundred pages in size.
Most musicals I've been a part of, there's lots of cuts in the music, where we'll cut pages of music out of a song, or skip over songs entirely. AFAIK there is no easy way to remove or skip over those pages in MobileSheets... currently I edit the song and under the Files tab I manually edit the page order to remove the cut pages from the song. Which gets tricky quick, as once you remove one page, the page number on the scrollbar when you're playing the song no longer matches the page numbers in the file, which is what's referenced from the 'Page Order' setting.
Would be really awesome to have a 'cuts' menu where it's easy to reorder and hide pages in a song. Or just have a 'hide this page' option in the menu from the song you're playing. Would be just fine if 'hide this page' automatically changed the 'Page order' to hide the page.
Thanks!

Can't you just use link points to jump over sections of the file? (not sure if there is a limit on the number of link points)

Kyle - are you not using the new page order UI that was added somewhat recently? It lets you visually see thumbnails for all the pages and you can interact with the thumbnails to add/remove pages which updates the page order automatically. I can certainly consider adding an option somewhere to make it easier to remove a page though.

Aha, no you're adding features so quick I hadn't even noticed it... last musical I removed pages from was such a pain I figured I was just gonna manually flip past the dead pages on this one.
Your new page order UI is AWESOME!! Don't even have to break up the PDF files any more to add/change songs in the middle of the song... this is very intuitive!
That being said, yes, a 'remove this page' option or just a shortcut to the new page UI from the overlay menu would still be great, but not such a big deal anymore. It would be helpful if the page previews on the new page order UI showed annotations as that would make it easy to see which pages are marked out by cuts. Still, this is much much better. Can't believe I missed this lol

These look quite handy for jazz gigs... honestly didn't know this was a feature. Looks like it's only accessible thru that one button. At any rate, no this doesn't automatically skip/remap pages.

I can certainly look into rendering annotations in the future. I'll have to see how complicated it will be as the current code is quite simple - it just renders the thumbnails from the PDF without any modifications.

Hi,
warming up this thread as I'd like to request an actual hide feature, if possible
I am starting with MobileSheets based on a library from our band's bass player/singer, so I do not have to start from scratch.
During performance I have no need to display pages with just the lyrics, as I am not a singer.
Anyway, I would like to keep the the lyric pages in the library for having everything in one place just in case, e.g. when sharing wit other band members when convicted to MobileSheets.
As I see it now, using links a s suggest is not an option as the order of songs will change in different set lists, so I cannot hard-link them.

You could create a duplicate song without the lyric pages (Edit, Files, Change page order to remove unwanted page) - okay you have two songs but you can use collections to "hide" the song with lyrics
You could put a link at the start of the lyrics that jumps to the next non-lyric page.
This requires editing the file (but you are going to have to do that anyway to show which bits are hidden.)
NOTE: You put the links in each song - not in the setlist as mentioned in your post. Doing tjhis means it doesn't matter in which order the songs are played.
Lyrics might not be a full page
A hide option could be quite difficult to program especially if you are sharing the file with other members (they might want to hide different sections)
It could also lead to more support for Mike when people can't see pages because they are hidden.
A fold option could possible work as this would show where the fold is (but still requires modifying the file)
As you might want to share files, I suggest you use a single file and put links in it - just one tap to skip the section you don't want and the file is still useable by the other members (a single file means that different versions of the file are eliminated).
Hope this helps

I would just use the page order and put the lyrics pages at the end of the song. Not quite hidden, but more or less out of the way.
Another way could be to make a duplicate song (as Geoff suggested) and seperate music and lyrics in both and then you make a smart button (not a link) on the music page with which you can jumo to the lyrics pages if needed.

Thanks for all the input!
After having played my first live show using Mobils Sheets, I reevaluated my needs.
Putting lyrics pages last and adding a Smart Button on each song's last non-lyric page to jump to the next song seems like a good solution.

Another "Pro-Tip".
No need to make a smart button in every song.
Just assign a touch action from the settings to a corner or a 2 or 3 finger tap to go to the next song. This works from every song then with no need to edit a smart button each time.
