MobileSheets not working anymore on FireOS 7.3.3.1
#1
Hi,

I have MobileSheetsPro running on FireOS on some devices from Amazon Appstore. Version 3.9.17 runs fine on FireOS 8.3.3.4 (FireHD 10 Gen 13) but won't start anymore on 7.3.3.1 (FireHD 10 Gen 11), "This app is based on an older Version of Fire OS...", which seems weird as it runs just fine on a newer version of Fire OS. The App Store shows an "update" button, indicating that there's some kind of update available, but won't do anything, no matter now often I click "Update". The Tablet is on 7.3.3.1 since November and ran just fine last week and I'm not aware of any changes.

I tried uninstalling, but now reinstalling also does not work, stalled at "0% downloaded".

Any clues what to do?

Best, Joachim

Other users that have encountered this found that reinstalling worked just fine and then the app loaded without issue. I don't know if it will have any impact if I release an update to MobileSheets, as this problem occurred with no changes to MobileSheets (updating the OS seems to be the source of the problem). I'm not sure why the installation is stalled for you though - I'm assuming you have already tried rebooting the device and then trying to install the app again.

Hi Mike,

yes, rebooted multiple times. But I think I solved it.
It looks like an appstore-issue for some apps. It also was not an OS Update that caused this, but more likely an Appstore update (last OS Update was in December). I could actually install the trial version without issues, just the pro version would not install or update, but I realized that the alexa app seemed to have similar update problems. So I deleted cache and data for the app store in the App settings and was able to reinstall MobileSheets Pro without issues.
With this knowledge I tried on a second Tablet and all I needed to do was delete the Appstore-Data, after that the installed App worked again.

Stupid Amazon Appstore...

Thanks for that information - I'll let other users know about that.

This is a widespread issue right now with Amazon Fire devices: https://www.amazonforum.com/s/question/0...ed-working

It seems to affect other Android apps besides MobileSheets (potentially all Android apps).
