Another newbie question.

Is there a way when viewing the Library list to view more columns/fields?

It currenly shows song title.  Can I also see a column of the collection it is in as well as a columne of genres, etc.?

Kind of like Windows File Explorer.  In detail view mode you can see the file name, date, file size.  And, you can add/remove which columns you would like to see in detail view.

I'm a newbie and have been slowly, but successfully, importing pdf music books with bookmarks for each of the books songs.

I know how to use the library to select a collection, then swipe through it it in alphabetical order.

My question, is there a way to open the digital book (that the collection was created from) and swipe through the book in actual physical page order (which isn't necesarily bookmark/alphabetical order).  But, also maintain the ability to swipe via bookmark order.  I would like the flexibility to switch between the two.

Hi   I am very new to Mobile Sheets.  I am inputting Songs using my camera on my Samsung Galaxy 10 tablet.  Most music came out fine but some have dark grainy spots.  I have tried different filter settings in MS without luck.  I can try different lighting but I believe I already have adequate lighting.  Are there any suggestions to remove the spots?  One filter setting I tried was Photo.  Does that result in a PDF file lite the other settings?  I don't want to use a lot of storage.  I can scan music using my scanner but that requires that I transfer it to the tablet. I was able to import a music book that had bookmarks for every song using the Import CSV or PDF Bookmarks feature.  So each song from the book was added to my library.  What I wanted to do was import each song and assign them to a collection, like the Book Name.  Instead I went through each song individually and assigned the collection manually.

From what I could see there was no way to do this type of import with bookmarks and assign all the songs to the same collection at the time of import.

One thread I saw said it was possible to first select collection and then import the pdf file with bookmarks and they will become a part of the selected collection. Before trying I wanted to confirm this, since there are over 300 songs.

Or, is the only way to use csv?

Hi,

I have MobileSheetsPro running on FireOS on some devices from Amazon Appstore. Version 3.9.17 runs fine on FireOS 8.3.3.4 (FireHD 10 Gen 13) but won't start anymore on 7.3.3.1 (FireHD 10 Gen 11), "This app is based on an older Version of Fire OS...", which seems weird as it runs just fine on a newer version of Fire OS. The App Store shows an "update" button, indicating that there's some kind of update available, but won't do anything, no matter now often I click "Update". The Tablet is on 7.3.3.1 since November and ran just fine last week and I'm not aware of any changes.

I tried uninstalling, but now reinstalling also does not work, stalled at "0% downloaded".

Any clues what to do?

I've used Mobilesheets for about a year on my Lenovo Tab P12 Android tablet and never had any trouble getting the Virtual Keyboard (Gboard) to display for entering text on sheet music until recently.  After a couple of hours of following the suggested troubleshooting steps I still had the problem. I continued experimenting until I found and fixed a tablet setting.  I thought I'd post the details here to see if it helps anyone avoid unnecessary and severe steps in the future.

A couple of weeks ago while exploring the tablet settings, I found something that sounded useful called "handwrite" and enabled it.  I didn't use Mobilesheets for a while and forgot I had made this change.  It turns out that "handwrite" is basically a virtual keyboard replacement (in some instances) and is used to convert handwritten symbols into text.  Enabling this feature interfered with opening the virtual keyboard in the Mobilesheets app.

You can check this setting on your Lenovo tablet by opening the settings, selecting "Pen & keyboard" and then "Pen" and then "Handwrite".  This opens the toggle switch for "Handwrite".  You can also just search the settings for "Handwrite".  If the "Handwrite" switch is "blue" then this function is enabled and should be turned off which will turn the switch gray.     

In addition, there was a lot of discussion about foot pedals interfering with the virtual keyboard.  That has not been a problem for me.  I've been using a Lekato pedal for page turning.

In case you are considering the Lenovo Tab P12 for displaying sheet music, I'd recommend it as an affordable alternative to Samsung or Apple.  The only thing I did to customize the tablet was to add a non-glare screen protector to eliminate screen reflections.  The screen is pretty bright, but a bit difficult to read outdoors in direct sunlight.

I'm not sure if this is a bug, or perhaps I'm just going about this all wrong.

Consider me importing a ChordPro file, then adding user stamps (chord diagrams), then converting to PDF to lock the layout. If I view the PDF on my Android device I see the stamps. If I sync up to the cloud, then sync down to a second device, I can see the stamps on the second device. 

But.... if I print the PDF, or export the PDF then the stamps are not included.

I can no longer select or remove the stamps from the PDF in the markup editor. I've tried "embedding annotations" but get the same result. What am I doing wrong? I just want to share a sheet with chord diagrams included.

This feels like something that should just work. I expect I'm missing a step.

I only just found out, that Companion is also available for Mac now, awesome!

I have a question regarding the Batch-Import option: "update songs if matching files are found".
This option only updates songs if files exist with the exact same name, correct?

Would it be possible to add further configuration
1. add some regex patterns or number of (consecutive) characters that may differ?
2. only update existing songs, dont add new ones?

My use case:

I upload sheet music to a folder, shared among my band mates.
Whenever I update a song, i recreate the pdf files and increment a version string e.g. "Title - Instrument.v8.pdf" -> "Title - Instrument.v9.pdf" (allowing difference of 1 character or even better difference within regex e.g. /v[0-9]*/ would suffice.
If a band member wants to fetch the latest updates, it would be super comfortable for them, to just refer to that shared folder with the companion app.
update only files that match (except for version string) and be done with it.

Hi,

for many years a very satisfied user of MobileSheets, I encounter a hopefully minor problem.
Yesterday for the first time after I used it to upload new song sheets frequently in the last days and did a backup, the Companion did not start any more. After double clicking nothing happened. When I tried to reinstall the newest version today after deinstalling the old one, the installation ends with the error message attached.

I'll try to explain with an example, let's say i have 3 songs:

Song 1, key of G
Song 2, key of C
Song 3, key of A

And I want to add all the songs, a new value in the key field: "Original key"

If I select all the songs, edit them and add "Original key" in the key field, I'll have this: 

Song 1, 2 and 3: key of G, C, A, Original key

However, what I want to get is this: 
Song 1, key of G, Original key
Song 2, key of C, Original key
Song 3, key of A, Original key

I frequently have to add (or delete) a single value in many songs without affecting the previous data. Is that possible without having to individually edit every song?
