Where are you getting auto capture? I found this online:
"iPad 'auto capture' can refer to a few different features, primarily: automatic document scanning within the Camera app, automatic full-page screenshots in Safari, and the ability to trigger screenshots or screen recordings using Siri, shortcuts, or AssistiveTouch."

There's no way I've found to shut it off to be able to take the image manually when I scan pages to create a new song from a sheet of music, or in this case lyrics, I have. The auto feature can go off too early or come out blurry and I'd rather be able to manually shoot it.
There is an icon at the top right that looks like a magnifying glass inside brackets. Just tap that and it will turn off the automatic capture (the magnifying glass should no longer appear). I was just testing this and I did see an issue where I had to do that twice, because it didn't switch correctly on the first tap, so I'm not sure what's going on there but I'll look into it.
Mike DeepL: Found the bug with the way that setting is persisted. If you change it, then exit the camera screen and re-enter, it shows up properly. It will be fixed with the next update.

Thanks Mike, I see how it's working. I got confused by the icon behavior too. Yes I see where you need to tap the icon twice before it disappears, and I exited the camera like you suggested and went back. What was a little confusing is the way it displays Searching For Document and the camera button spins as it frames the image. I looks just like it is still in auto capture, but in fact it's just framing the shot and you still manually get the image. If functions fine after I tested it looking for this behavior.
Thanks for the help. I appreciated your email last week about the Samsung, and I'm now finding the software useful on my iPad. |
