Advanced Connection Options |

Hello,
since syncing by Wifi is very unstable for me, i switched to use the USB connection.
Maybe you can fix two things in the Companion:
1. Please remember the setting of "Enable Advanced Connection Options" after restarting the program
2. After disconnecting the tableet the "Connect using USB" option stays activated.
To reconnect i have to deactivate it first and then activate it again.
Maybe you can change it to change automatically when the device is disconnected.
Thanks.

I'm happy to announce that MobileSheetsPro v1.8.1 (Android), MobileSheets v1.8.1 (Windows 10) and MobileSheetsPro Companion v2.5.6 have been released. This is a very large update, especially for Windows 10 where a lot of important bugs have been addressed. I've added quite a few new features in this release centered around MIDI including MIDI Actions (the ability to tie MIDI commands to actions in the application like turning pages), programmable smart buttons (these can be used to trigger other actions as well) and a slew of new supported MIDI commands. I know some users have been anxious to have support for having MobileSheetsPro send MIDI timing messages so that the metronome can be used to control the tempo of their MIDI device. This is now supported and can be triggered when a song is loaded, or by using a smart button. This update contains a lot of database changes, so you must update both the tablet app and the companion app at the same time. The full list of changes can be seen below:
MobileSheetsPro v1.8.1 (Android)
- Added new programmable smart buttons which can trigger actions when tapped
- Added the ability to map MIDI commands to actions in the application, such as page turns
- Added new MIDI listen dialog that shows all received commands, and allows a batch midi command to be created from them
- Added support for new MIDI commands including note off, note on, song select, midi start/continue/stop and MIDI timing clock
- Added support for extracting and opening files embedded in PDFs
- Added support for comment box in chord pro files
- The group editor now shows captions for all songs in the group (the left list)
- Added support for using the chord pro highlight command beside non-highlighted text
- Added new option to control whether a master device sends song change notifications to slave devices when changing songs in a setlist.
- Chords in comments, highlights and comment boxes are now transposable and have the same font size as the rest of the comment, but respect other chord style options
- The capo can now be disabled by default for chord pro files
- Added new option to align the first page to the top of the screen when using the vertical scrolling display mode and bottom page alignment.
- Optimized the storage of annotation points in the database to greatly reduce the number of table entries and reduce the database file size
- Fixed bugs with using the shuffle sorting with setlists
- Content in parenthesis at the beginning of song titles is now ignored when sorting
- Added new setting to show total setlist duration next to setlist names on the library screen
- The import action menu can now be used on all group tabs
- Added new MIDI echo setting that sends received messages back out to all connected devices
- Fixed bug that prevented switching between songs with touch or pedal actions unless a setlist was loaded
- Fixed automatic scrolling to have a consistent speed for all pages when using the vertical scrolling display mode
- Fixed bug where sharing files through other applications no longer worked with Android 7.0 or higher
- Fixed bug where the audio icon for multiple files wasn't displayed correctly on some tabs
- Fixed scaling issues with link points
- Increased the number of recent entries to 1000

creating set list - sort order |

When creating a set list, if I pull a song from the right column to the end (bottom) of the left column, it will normally sort in (just as expected) in the end position. But if the song comes from a higher position in the song column and I want to pull it to the end position of the set list column, it will always insert in the second last position (and I'll have to pull it down in an additional step). Mike, could you please iron this out.

Jump to letters |

Hello,
i just was creating a new setlist. It would be great, if i could enter a letter and the library view jumps right to that letter, so i dont need to scroll down all my songs.
Also the filter seems not to work correctly. If i set it to "All Fields" and enter a search term, it does not search for the collection.
Thanks.

Sort custom field |

Hello,
because we started to add numbers to our songs, i entered them into the custom field.
If i try to sort the songs by this field, they are sorted wrong.
They are sorted like 1, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, ...., 2, 20, 21 instead of 1, 2, 3, 4, ....
Additional: Can i give the custom field a name? I didn't find a option for that.
Thanks.

Touch Actions Not Working |

I've just noticed that the touch actions don't seem to be working correctly (as before). The default ones like next and previous page are OK, but I have next and previous song assigned to bottom centre and bottom left. These don't seem to be working the way they used to. They now only work if I either select load all or have "load next song" selected in the library settings.
Was this a deliberate change? Personally I think I prefer the old behaviour. If I use load all then the next song looks like a new page of the current song as it becomes visible at the bottom of the page. If I have load next song selected then next page can accidentally move to the next song. I prefer having to make the decision to touch the "next song" position to move on.
Regards
Andy
PS I seem to think this has been discussed before, but I can't find it. So sorry for repeating myself if it has.

thoughts on tablet display aspect |

Now that I've been using mobile sheets a while I kind of realized I should have tried to find a tablet with 4:3 aspect which would match better a scanned 8.5 x 11 sheet of music. By getting a 10" standard android tablet a lot of the screen is left unused since it is really designed for watching movies. Just for fun I took a sheet of music jpg and stretched it to the whole screen size of my tablet in photoshop. It looks a little odd after I import it to ms but I think I like it better. I kind of wish there was an option to "stretch to fit tablet" display option.

How to rename a song? |

On my tablet, I am sure I renamed a file once, doing a long pressing on the name somewhere, but I can't find the place now.
Ah, I have just found a place, but it has taken me three days of attempts to try to find the answer, and many minutes just now, including searching the internet and the forums, so I am going to answer my question so I can find it again.
In the Setlist:
Press the file name long enough that check boxes appear and that file has a check box
Click Edit Song at the top. A page looking like the page after upload appears.
Correct the name
At the top, click OK.
